Coppull at summit as Bailey orders latest treble

Coppull lead the Premier Division on goal difference after a sun-drenched first midweek fixture list of the 2022/23 season, with pictures from AFC Blackpool Reserves v Euxton Villa Reserves by PAUL O'BRIEN.

Mark Hine’s men earned a point in a 0-0 draw at Blackpool Wren Rovers – both sides on four points after two games.

Also on four points are Burscough Richmond who secured a last-gasp draw at Tempest United thanks to Billy Whittle.

Whittle had opened the scoring on nine minutes but Aaron Thorpe and Jordan Pendlebury had turned it round for the home side by half-time.

But Whittle struck as the game entered injury time as the game ended 2-2.

Poulton left it even later to grab a point, coming from two down to level in the fifth minute of stoppage time at Slyne.

Reece Pearce and Luke Bradley put the home side in command at the break but Josh Few pulled one back shortly after half time. Max Landless then popped up in the 95th minute to seal the draw.

Whitehaven remain unbeaten but were pegged back by Vickerstown, Kyle Delves’ strike on 45 minutes cancelling out Carl Denver’s 10th minute opener.

CMB are the sixth team sitting on four points after two games after a narrow win at Turton.

Dylan Winstanley and Charlie Scholes put them two goals to the good before Jack Burke made it a nervy finish.

Hurst Green are off the mark thanks a 3-0 win over Wyre Villa, Mackenzie Rosbotham, Danny Mort and Joe Savin doing the damage for the Ribble Valley side.

Last year’s champions Thornton Cleveleys recovered quickly from Saturday’s defeat with a 4-1 win at Lytham Town.

Billy Dollin fired them ahead at the break before Jordan Beavers struck twice in three minutes to earn the points. Lloyd Paton pulled one back but Dollin grabbed his second late on to put the gloss on a resounding away win.

Fulwood Amateurs are also off and running with a 1-0 win at Milnthorpe Corinthian, another late show with Ryan Dodd firing home with three minutes left.

Division One – Rampant St Gerards in seventh heaven

Four teams have perfect records going into Saturday’s matches after a goal-laden set of results.

Lostock St Gerards blitzed Kendal County in the second half to romp home 7-2.

Josh Sarda and Matthew Bullock for Lostock and Jack Brench and Jacob Carway traded goals in the first half to make it 2-2 at the break.

But further goals from Bullock, Oliver Evans, Ben Hudson, Joe Waring and Troy Carsley saw off the Cumbrians.

Ulverston Rangers enjoyed the local bragging rights with a 5-1 thumping of Crooklands Casuals on their own patch.

David Harrison fired them ahead but Nathan Shaw had restored parity by the break.

An own goal, two from Sam Pinnegor and Sean Mooney sent them back down the A590 with all three points.

Hesketh Bank had a narrow 1-0 win at Horwich St Mary’s Victoria via a 52nd minute effort from Matty Low.

Rossendale are the fourth team in the division to have maximum points so far thanks a 2-1 win over Eagley.

Tom Hulme headed home his sixth of the season and Tom Walker doubled the lead in the second half after Scott Wylie had missed a penalty.

Eagley pulled one back through Joe Howling but it was not enough.
Haslingden St Mary’s added to Southport Hesketh’s woes with a 5-0 win.

Leon Barker Williams, Jordan Lewis, Lewis Hanley and an own goal put them four up within 31 minutes. Lewis Reeder added a fifth on 75 minutes.

New boys Carnforth Rangers enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Hawcoat Park, Jonny Ash and Damian Murphy both with braces. Stan Rich grabbed the fifth before a consolation from Ryan Magtoto.

Askam United came out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Millom.

Theo Wilson put Millom into an early lead but Aiden Pearson levelled matters on 14 minutes. Millom went ahead again through David Mennell before Joe Tindale and Frankie Ellis put Askam ahead at the interval.

Lee Irving extended the lead but Phil Edmondson made it 4-3 on 63 minutes. That’s how it stayed to earn Askam their first win of the season.

Croston Sports came back from a goal down to run out 4-1 winners at Stoneclough.

Larma Meite put Stoneclough ahead on 25 minutes but a Mark Forshaw double put Croston in the ascendancy.

Christian Suthers then struck twice late on to secure the points.

Division Two – Triple Bailey please barman…again!

James Bailey hit his second hat-trick in four days in Walney Island’s 5-0 rout of Galgate.

Zach Walker also grabbed two as Walney kept up their 100% record.
Freckleton enjoyed a 6-0 win over Astley & Buckshaw, Steven Johnson and Joe Bentley both on the scoresheet twice.

Graham Lyons and Reece Jones both got in on the act for an emphatic three points.

Jordan Chubb and Matthew Kennedy traded efforts in a 1-1 draw between Dalton United and Kendal United while Storey’s returned from Yorkshire with a 3-0 win at Bentham-based Pause United.

Chipping had an eye-catching win at Garstang Reserves, prevailing 4-1 through doubles from Jack Fletcher and Harris Bailey. Tom Graham got a late penalty for Garstang.

Holker Old Boys Reserves enjoyed an identical scoreline in their victory at Cartmel.

Danny Reeve fired in for Cartmel but second half goals from Joe McGladdery, Charlie Thompson, Farrell Foster and Tom Stevenson did the trick for the away side.

Burnley United were twice pegged back by Charnock Richard Reserves in a game put back 24 hours due to an FA Cup replay fixture clash.

Mohammed Abaullch-Butt had twice put the visitors in the lead only for Cameron Laurie to reply in kind in either half, as the game ended 2-2.

Cameron Hollywood was the early showstopper with Matthew Poole and a Jenson Butterworth penalty sealing the deal.

Two new clubs faced off as AFC Blackpool Reserves and Euxton Reserves shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, Sam Burton for the home side and Nick Buckley for Euxton.
