First placed Turton came out on top 2-1 at home against second in the table Burscough Richmond. In a hard but interesting game Burscough opened the scoring in the 35th minute through Michael Galliers but Luke Bradbury soon equalised and it was 1-1 at half time. Unfortunately for the Southport side Ali Dickson poached a late winner in the 88th minute.
Third placed Ladybridge’s topsy turvy season continued at Wyre Villa. They opened the scoring through Liam Blackburn in the 5th minute. A lead they held until the 50th minute when Peter Nicholson equalised. Jack Ashworth then added goals for Villa in the 65th and 85th minutes. Jason Mannion pulled one back for Ladybridge in the 87th minute but Wyre held on for a memorable 3-2 victory.
Improving Haslingden St Mary’s were at home to struggling Askam Utd and managed to win by 3 goals to nil. Josh Olliet scored two in the first half with Alex White adding another towards the end of the second half.
Bottom club Dalton United continued their recent good form with a close home win against Lytham Town. The score was 0-0 at half time but then Fraser Shand opened the scoring for Dalton in the 50th minute. Ben Proctor equalised for Lytham on 75 minutes but ‘veteran’ Gareth Jones then popped up for Dalton in the 84th and 86th minutes. Ross Ainsworth pulled one back in the 87th minute. But Dalton managed to run out 3-2 winners.
Fellow Cumbrian side Hawcoat Park entertained East Lancashire side Mill Hill St Peters and ran out 2-0 victors with a goal in the first half by Ryan McKay and a second half strike by Elliott Moore.
In the Presidents Cup Hurst Green travelled to GSK Ulverston Rangers and progressed to the Semi Finals with a rather late 2-0 win as Jake Craven scored in the 89th and 90th minutes.
In the other cup game between two in form teams Tempest Utd triumphed by one goal at Poulton. The home side went in at half time three goals to the good with goals from John Hay, Jason Dean and George Byrne. But a second half transformation saw Matt Carter and Liam Stewart pull two goals back in the first four minutes and then Alex McLure equalise in the 65th minute. The winning and killer goal was scored by stalwart Chris Farnworth on 83 minutes.
