Manager and Assistant step down.

Garstang Football Club received a double shock over the weekend when after the game against Charnock Richard firstly Assistant Manager Dave Porter announced that he was to step down from his role with the Club then in a totally unrelated decision Manager Iain Swan handed in his resignation to the Chairman on Sunday. “Swany” has accepted an invitation to join former Garstang F.C. Manager Mike Stringfellow as Assistant Manager at Kendal Town.

“Swany” has said that he couldn’t resist the opportunity to work at a level that was three leagues higher than the West Lancs. Premier League.
The Club would like to thank “Swany” for all his good work during an almost three year stint with the Club. The Chairman said, “We can only wish “Swany” all the best in his new role and respect his reasons for leaving. We will be giving serious consideration as to who will be our next Manager in the next few days and will be happy to receive applications”

Speaking about Dave Porter stepping down the Chairman said, “Dave will always be about the Club but has decided to pull away from the weekly commitment, again we thank Dave for his contribution which I am in no doubt will continue”
