ALEX BRUCE
Alex served PNE as a classic goal-poacher, from 1972-74 when 1st Division,
Newcastle United came a calling with £15,0000 Transfer Offer
incidentally , in today's world, a value of approx 9 milliion,
& just as with Jorden Hugill, it was an offer that P.N.E. could Not refuse.
Alex did score Goals for Newcastle Utd, but did not settle in the North East.
1975 saw his return to his beloved North End.
Alex partnered Mike Elwiss, akin to the great partnership from the 1960's,
Alec Ashworth & "The Black Prince" Alec Dawson,
& the legendary Duo, from the 1950's, Sir Tom FINNEY & Tommy 'Topper' Thompson
Alec's Goals tally, approaching 150 goals,
left him only 30 goals behind PNE's All-Time Goalscorer (187) by the late Sir Tom Finney.
Alex left PNE in 1983, as one of the All-Time Top-10 P.N.E. players, of the modern era.

Why not ring-up your old teammates & come along to talk over old matches of the past
and have a chat with Alex,
& listen to his anecdotes of his time spent at Deepdale,
You ALL must have a particular memory of Alex's best-goals in mind
such as coming off the bench to score the winning goal against the mighty CHELSEA ?
