Lawson, 25, plundered 27 goals for Thornton Cleveleys as they won the West Lancashire League title for the first time.
And his goalscoring talents have seen him earn a move to Lancaster City - four divisions higher.
He had starred in pre-season earning praise from Lancaster City manager Mark Fell.
Fell told the club's website: "He’s got great attributes, his movement is excellent and we think we can further develop him to be a really top striker in this league.
"He’s hungry to progress and knows where the net is, simple as that, compare him to Brad Carsley who had a similar West Lancs goal record, he made the step up and I think Dom will.
"He gives us a point of difference from our other forwards and fits into our group.”
Lawson's move follows that of Lucas Weaver whose exploits for Fulwood Amateurs last term saw him picked up by Colne, who play in the Northern Premier League West division, one level below Lancaster City.
