Lytham Town

Club President finally makes his debut after patient wait.

Lytham Town President John Williams finally made his eagerly anticipated debut for the club on Wednesday night in the reserve teams 7-2 win vs Croston Sports. "Mr Lytham Town's" appearance was marked with him being given the captains armband upon entering the field of play, to applause from both teams. At 69 years and 135 days, he showed no signs of allowing himself to be overshadowed by the younger contingent around him. John Williams, wearing his favorite number 7 shirt, demonstrated exceptional movement off the ball and even managed to get involved in play around the halfway line towards the end of the game. A fitting end to the season, for a great guy, who is without doubt, the heartbeat of Lytham Town Football Club.
