PODCAST: The West Lancs Show podcast is now live!

The ‘West Lancs Show’ podcast is off and running – with the help of three top managers.

In a first for the league, Burscough Richmond manager Anthony Murt, Fulwood Amateurs boss Tony Hesketh and Hurst Green gaffer Steve Cunningham took part in the 30-minute broadcast available on Spotify.
Topics included England’s World Cup performance, Gareth Southgate, their West Lancashire League seasons, cup success, match officials…and how players have missed matches to have hair transplants!
University of Central Lancashire sports journalism student Ben Smith, who provides the round-ups each weekend, took the mic for the Q&A recorded at the university campus in Preston.
It is hoped the podcast will become a monthly addition to the league’s media output with strikers, chairmen and women and referees lined up for future episodes.
Anthony said: “It was great – I really enjoyed it. It was great to see the other guys, Tony and Steve, and catching up with them in a different environment other than shouting and screaming on a Saturday on the line!
“I really, really enjoyed it and I think it’s absolutely fantastic what is being done for the league with all the extra coverage. It’s good fun, light-hearted and that’s what we want.”
