Poulton hit nine in weekend goal frenzy - Reserves round up

Ash Ball was again the goal hero as Euxton Villa stayed top of Division One Reserves with a 3-2 win against Tempest United.

Ball grabbed his fifth of the season on 72 minutes for Euxton who have won four of the first five games of the season.

Max Bryden scored twice in Hurst Green’s 5-2 win over Blackpool Wren Rovers and Ric Coley’s second-half winner moved Lostock St Gerards into third after a 2-1 win at Horwich St Mary’s.

Fulwood Amateurs are now fourth with a 5-2 defeat of CMB and Danny Sumner was at the double in Thornton Cleveleys’ 6-3 win over Stoneclough.

The performance of the week surely came from Poulton who hammered Eagley 9-0, who had seven different players on the scoresheet, including Matthew Seal who helped himself to a treble.

In Division Two, Lee Richardson and Gregg Brickell both scored twice in Coppull’s 6-2 win over Storeys, who had led through Matthew Carradice.

They stay top with four wins from four, from Rossendale, who defeated Lytham Town 3-1.

Two goals in five minutes helped Milnthorpe to a 2-1 win at Hesketh Bank and Galgate had an impressive 3-1 win against Fulwood Amateurs A.

Nathan Crook and Tom Airey both grabbed a pair each in Chipping’s 5-0 win over Thornton Cleveleys A while Alfie Edmondson’s brace for Haslingden was in vain as the east Lancashire side went down 3-2 at home to Carnforth Rangers.
