This week the West Lancashire League played two Reserve Division One fixtures under floodlights.
Charnock Richard Reserves entertained Coppull Reserves in a local derby at Mossie Park. Coppull took the lead in the first minute when Martin Kershaw scored. Thereafter a large crowd of nearly 200 spectators enjoyed an end to end game of football. Charnock missed a penalty in the second half and the result was in doubt until the final whistle.
Garstang Reserves entertained neighbours Fulwood Amateurs Reserves at the Riverside ground. A crowd in excess of 150 also saw an entertaining game with the result being in doubt right until the end with both teams showing full commitment .
Fulwood won 4-3 with two goals by Brad Fox, one from George Slater and an Adam Stammers penalty in injury time. Garstang scorers were Oscar Panepinto and two by Andrew Murphy.
Two outstanding games, a good advertisement for West Lancashire League football
