Top clubs to meet in season curtain-raiser

The 2024/25 season kicks off in earnest tomorrow - with our annual curtain-raiser the Wilf Carr Memorial Trophy.

Last year's Premier Division runners-up and Richardson Cup winners CMB will host Burscough Richmond who finished the season in third.

Normally the league's version of the Charity Shield is competed for between the league winners and Richardson Cup winners.

But with champions Thornton Cleveleys now advancing to the North West Counties League, Anthony Murt's men will take their place and will be trying to retain the Wilf Carr Trophy which they won last season against Rossendale.

Kick off is 3pm at CMB Sports Ground, Tempest Road, Lostock, Bolton
(BL6 4ER).
