Tremendous Tempest lay down early season marker

Tempest United stormed to the top of the Premier Division table with a resounding win over Coppull United to continue their fine start to the season with pictures of Blackpool Wren Rovers v Lostock St Gerards by CAIT MASON.

Kurt Farlow hit four and strikes by Aaron Thorpe, Jordan Coop and Elliot Hailwood put them seven up at the break after a remarkable first 45 minutes.

Hailwood grabbed his brace and a double by Sam Parkinson completed a 10-0 win.

They are level on points with Fulwood Amateurs who saw off Eagley 5-1.

Will Pitt bundled home an opener on 20 minutes and doubled the advantage with a back post header.

In an ill-tempered second-half, Aaron Hewitt fired home a 20-yard free kick before Lewis Nolan lashed home from a corner to give plucky Eagley hope.

Layton Kirnan almost immediately made it 4-1 from a tight angle and Spencer Lucas added a fifth after rounding the keeper late on.

CMB can overhaul them both if they beat Rossendale tonight.

Poulton are up to fourth with a Max Landless effort the only goal in their home win against Wyre Villa.

Lostock St Gerards almost pulled off a notable win at Blackpool Wren Rovers despite being 2-0 at the break.

Matthew Sillett and Ric Seear were on target for Wrens only for Mason McKay to smash a second half hat-trick to put LSG 3-2 up.

They were denied by Luke Smith’s 87th minute equaliser as Wrens ensured they stayed unbeaten.

Haslingden St Mary’s got their first win of the season, overturning a half-time deficit to beat Hurst Green 3-1.

The visitors went ahead through Jason Nolan’s penalty but Rhys Barton, Charlie Yates and Alex White gave St Mary’s the win.

And Cleator Moor Celtic are off and running with a late point at Milnthorpe – Owen Woodburn’s 88th minute goal cancelling out Dan Hallam’s strike just four minutes earlier.

In a goal-laden Division One, Astley and Buckshaw maintained their perfect record, twice coming from behind to beat Hesketh Bank.

George Bond and Kevin Edgar had twice put the home side ahead only for an own goal and Charlie Bolton to restore parity. Jake Topping got the winner in the 86th minute in a 3-2 victory.

The bonkers game of the night was at Holker Old Boys who came back from 4-1 down to beat Askam 7-5.

Joe McGladdery had put Holker ahead but Askam hit back in style through Declan Kell, Aiden Pearson, Reece Carlisle and Joe Tindale.

Dylan Ellis and Faryl Foster made it 3-4 at the break and Freddie Lawton made it 4-4.

Ben Phizacklea put Askam back ahead only for Tyler Spence’s double and Jordan McGladdery’s 85th minute effort to seal a remarkable three points for Holker.

Millom were pegged back by Crooklands Casuals’ Sam Graham in a 1-1 draw, Jordan Williams having put Millom ahead at the break.

And it was the same scoreline at Kendal County as Slyne’s Liam Rodgers cancelled out Kieran Graham’s opener.

Ulverston Rangers are up to fourth, Archie Butler grabbing a pair in a 4-2 win at Carnforth Rangers.

Butler and goals by Jack Milburn and Sam Pinnigor had Ulverston 3-0 up within 30 minutes but Joe Jobling twice reduced the arrears.

A second-half effort by Butler saw the three points head back down the A590.

Freckleton came from behind to beat Southport Hesketh 2-1, Jack Williams and Patrick Johnrose on the scoresheet with Joe Tierney on target for the Merseysiders.

And all the action at Lytham Town came in the final 11 minutes plus injury time.

Tom Bell put Lytham ahead with Declan Hardacre levelling for Chipping.

Dan Stammers thought he had won it for Lytham but Finley Rhodes had other ideas, making it 2-2 deep into stoppage time.

Kendal United, Mill Hill and Walney Island have now won four out of four in Division Two after another successful midweek 90 minutes.

Kendal lead the way on goal difference, a Jamie Harris pair and an early Joe Dodds goal sealing a 3-0 win at Hawcoat Park.

Mill Hill’s impressive start to the West Lancashire League continued with a 2-1 victory over Garstang Res, Curtis Poole and Covy Smith on target.

Walney scored three in four first half minutes to see off Dalton United, who had taken the lead through Joshua Robinson.

Walney hit back before half time thanks to Zach Walker (2) and George Key to lead 3-1.

Robinson made it 3-2 but Hayden Skyme sealed a 4-2 success on 72 minutes.

Bamber Bridge Res lead the chasing pack and they won 3-0 at near neighbours Charnock Richard Res – Lewis Pilgrim, Dylan Agnew and an own goal doing the damage.

Pause United leapfrogged Storeys in the table with a 4-1 away win.
Tom Knight and Jack Preston both scored twice with Joe Waring on target for Storeys.

And Euxton Villa Res got their first points of the season in another goal-fest, this time at Stoneclough, where they prevailed 5-3.

Jumaane Meggoe and Sam Walker’s goals – sandwiched by an own goal – had Stoneclough ahead the break.

Thomas Henderson made it 2-2 before Walker and Henderson traded goals. James Hale and Mackenzie Lewis then scored late on to see Euxton depart with the points.
