Vickerstown hotshot lands move to Mintcakes

Prolific Vickerstown striker Scott McDonald has been snapped up by Northern Premier League side Kendal Town.

The prolific marksman, who has smashed 12 goals for Dave Round's challengers in the West Lancashire League this season, is one of several new signings made by new Kendal manager Warren Beattie.

Beattie told the club's Twitter account: "He ticks all the boxes for me.

"He’s quick, holds the ball up and he score goals. I believe he will be a superb signing for us."

Vickerstown are currently seventh in the West Lancashire League on 25 points but have a number of games in hand on most sides above them.

Beattie said he took advice from current Fulwood Amateurs boss Tony Hesketh before taking the job last month at Kendal Town, who are currently 19th in the Northern Premier League West division with seven points from 19 games.
